Mayor George Darden won’t be facing state civil or criminal charges for hiring illegal aliens to work on an urban revitalization project in his village, but Department of Labor officials informed him yesterday that the $10 an hour he paid 10 men doesn’t comply with the state’s prevailing wage law and taxpayers will have to pay the illegals the difference of about $30 an hour.

This administration is still not taking immigration seriously, which probably explains their reluctance to push forward on closing the borders BEFORE its “amnesty” program for illegals in this country.

This story illustrates that the Department of Labor STILL has no intention enforcing immigration labor laws. Not only should the Mayor have been fined or had criminal charges filed, but the illegals in the case should have been deported.

The only action being taken by this administration is hunting them down to give them more money for work they should never have been hired to do in the first place. Unbelievable.
