During a recent swing through New Hampshire, Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama stated the following:
“We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops that we are not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there.â€
Essentially, Obama is displaying his ineptitude and inexperience as an elected official and presidential candidate. Let’s review the ineptitude:
First, he states that he is willing without qualifications hold talks with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and North Korean despot Kim Jong Il.
Second, he states that he would bomb Pakistan to root out Al Qaeda in the lawless frontier regions. Remember that he and his Democratic ilk have bombarded President Bush incessantly with accusations that he invaded a “sovereign†Iraq illegally with flawed evidence of WMDs.
Third, Obama now raises the specter of Vietnam with statements tacitly accusing our military of “air-raiding villages and killing civilians.â€
Here are the primary questions that HAVE to be asked: does Obama have a clue? And does he have any business running for president? Would you trust him as Commander-in-Chief?
But of course if you read Media Matters of America, they will conveniently state that FOX News Sean Hannity, in an interview with author David Mendel, “misstated†Obama’s remarks: “During the interview with Mendell, Hannity referred to Obama’s purported “political missteps” and characterized Obama as “accusing” U.S. forces of “air-raiding villages and killing civilians.” However, U.S. airstrikes in Afghanistan — and accounts of resulting civilian casualties — have been widely reported in the media and have reportedly provoked criticism from Afghan President Hamid Karzai and a British commander stationed there. The Associated Press reported in a “Fact Check” responding to conservative attacks on Obama that “Western forces have been killing civilians at a faster rate than the insurgents.â€
Folks, there’s your Leftist, defeatist oratory. This is the type of rhetoric that automatically assuages the terrorists and compares our military to that of Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, or Hamas.
“As of Aug. 1, the AP count shows that while militants killed 231 civilians in attacks in 2007, Western forces killed 286. Another 20 were killed in crossfire that can’t be attributed to one party.â€
Honestly, can we really believe this?
Despicable…
The bottom line is this: Obama stated that, and I paraphrase for brevity, that our military cannot be running roughshod over civilians with no regard for collateral damage. Let me state unequivocally that our military operates with the utmost precision, making painstaking efforts to avoid civilian casualties at ALL COSTS.
Furthermore, while Obama and his Democratic ilk proclaim to support the troops, they make backstabbing statements and gesticulations, all the while cutting the military at every turn. These seditious behaviors only weaken our nation’s resolve, cut into our military’s morale, and pander to the damned far-Left.
