Last week Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker came before the Congress in order to give a rundown of the situation in Iraq. They were portrayed as messengers for Pres.George Bush and were expected to let the good times roll until they handed over the mess to a new president inaugurated in 2009. What was supposed to be liberation in Iraq in 2003, needed a surge of fresh troops, which now appears to be a temporary fix for the unpopular war. Bush intends on extending his Iraq policy beyond his presidency with the possibility of a UN Mandate approving foreign troops in Iraq. Long-term agreements have been made with the Bush administration and al_Maliki regime to keep American forces in Iraq for an extended period. Approval for these agreements are made by formal treaties but the Senate may refuse. approval. A Democratic effort to defund the war would amount to a failed gesture with political damage to their party. The Democratic party must focus on either cut and run Barak Obama or can’t make her mind up Hillary Clinton winning in November, more seats in the Senate, and pray for war weary Republican deserters who will help a new Democratic president get the 60 votes required to end the war and bring the troops home.
What’s wrong with their plot to get out of Iraq? We can’t afford to appease evil as we did in World War II, when British Prime Minister Chamberlin appeased Hitler at Munich and he rode rough shod over Europe while Chamberlain thought he had “peace in our time.” No matter how much territory Chamberlin was willing to give Hitler he wanted more.
The world was not ready to face up to Hitler and they wanted us to leave Europe in order for them to proceed to kill millions. “The only way for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing.” The Liberals are encouraging the enemy by insisting we get our troops out of Iraq and they have all the time in the world to wait patiently for such foolishness which will be an easy victory for them. Haven’t we learned our Lesson yet? I think not!!!!!
North Vietnamese statesman and Gen.Vo Nguyen Giap was the most prominent military commander besides Ho Chi Minh during the Vietnam War. He was responsible for major operations and leadership until the war ended in an American defeat in 1975, with the fall of the capital of Saigon. His theory was to keep the enemy engaged wearing them down until domestic anti-war politics and sentiments in the United States broke the back of resistance and forced the American’s to pull out in defeat. It was all for nothing!!! So many American lives sacrificed only to leave in shame while on television Americans witnessed Vietnamese who helped us scramble from a rooftop to board a U.S. military helicopter to safety.
If we let the Liberals have their way we will be defeated once again and this time practically open our door for the terrorists to come in and kill us. No we have not learned our lesson yet!!!!
