Nancy Pelosi: When You Credit the Enemy With Your Country’s Success, It is Called Treason
Filed under: — Robert Farrow @ 10:46 pm

Crossposted from Flopping Aces

In terms of protecting the American people in the Global War on Terror, George W. Bush is pitching a no-hitter. We hear that our global enemy, al-Qaeda, has effectively been defeated and there is ample news that the war in Iraq is a smashing victory.

From the Washington Post.

Less than a year after his agency warned of new threats from a resurgent al-Qaeda, CIA Director Michael V. Hayden now portrays the terrorist movement as essentially defeated in Iraq and Saudi Arabia and on the defensive throughout much of the rest of the world, including in its presumed haven along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

In a strikingly upbeat assessment, the CIA chief cited major gains against al-Qaeda’s allies in the Middle East and an increasingly successful campaign to destabilize the group’s core leadership.

While cautioning that al-Qaeda remains a serious threat, Hayden said Osama bin Laden is losing the battle for hearts and minds in the Islamic world and has largely forfeited his ability to exploit the Iraq war to recruit adherents.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki this week noted tremendous progress in Iraq.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Friday that the country’s economic and security progress shows reconciliation between the nation’s feuding factions is almost completed.

“I’m not saying that Iraq is paradise; absolutely not,” al-Maliki told reporters in Stockholm. “There are great challenges. But I still would like to say that violent acts have decreased by 80 percent in Iraq.”

His Shiite-dominated government is under pressure to show progress in reconciliation among the country’s Sunni Arabs, Shiites and Kurds. Iraq’s Sunni Arab minority has long felt it is being sidelined by the majority Shiites and the Kurds.

“We have come nearly to the end of the long process,” al-Maliki said through an interpreter at a joint news conference with Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. “It doesn’t mean that everyone gets an equal piece of the pie, but it means that one must show a commitment for a unified, democratic Iraq.”

And Nancy Pelosi, continuing to prove that there is something very wrong with San Francisco, says that this success in Iraq is not due to the blood and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, not due to the policies of George W. Bush, nor even due to the brilliant surge plan of General David Petraeus. In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, she credits . . . Iran.

Well, the purpose of the surge was to provide a secure space, a time for the political change to occur to accomplish the reconciliation. That didn’t happen. Whatever the military success, and progress that may have been made, the surge didn’t accomplish its goal. And some of the success of the surge is that the goodwill of the Iranians-they decided in Basra when the fighting would end, they negotiated that cessation of hostilities-the Iranians.

The Speaker of the House is so infected with Bush Derangement Syndrome that she has to credit America’s enemy with our victory in Iraq, rather than give Bush or the troops the credit. Iran sends weapons into Iraq and murders our troops and she credits them with the victory. She is utterly unfit to lead and should be removed from her post. She is giving aid and comfort to America’s enemies, and the last time I checked, that’s called treason.

Michelle Obama “Whitey” Tape – Update & Bumped: No Tape – Just Hearsay On Whats On The Supposed Tape

Larry Johnson appears to have the videotape of Michelle Obama that has been rumored to exist. He is gonna post it tomorrow.

Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning. Barack’s headaches are only starting.

Apparently its a tape of Michelle railing against “whitey” inside the Trinity church. Larry, who has yet to hear a conspiracy theory about conservatives he didn’t like, says that it was supposed to be the GOP’s October surprise.

I’ve also been informed that Karl Rove and his allies have a copy of it and are using it to raise funds for independent expenditure groups. The tape, I’m told, will be disclosed as the GOP October Surprise. It’s a ticking time bomb.

The ever evil Karl Rove at it again!

Ignore the idiocy, if the tape does exist then boy oh boy….is Obama in for some trouble.

UPDATE

It appears that LJ does not have the tape but will post news of the tape.

I’ll post the news Monday morning by 0900 hours.

Some in the comment section believe he is trying to smoke out a certain network that does have the tape. We shall see.

Also, Geraldo Rivera, spoke to Roger Sloane on Fox today who confirmed the existence of the tape:

Geraldo Rivera discussed the Michelle Obama Racist Rant Tape this morning on FOX News, with guest Roger Sloane, who stated this tape does exist, showing Michelle Obama off on a crazed, racist, anti-American rant, and that “a network” does in fact have the tape.

Roger Sloane is the man who broke the Elliott Spitzer prostitution scandal.

I, for one, do not want this tape out there just yet. Hillary would be tough to beat in November….but not Obama.

Update:

AJStrata on LJ’s conservative conspiracy theory:

Today Johnson admits he has only one source who claims the tape is a GOP sourced hit job. Five who claim to know someone who has seen it (all five probably referring to a single Clinton surrogate shopping the tape) and only one who claims this is a GOP dirty trick. That is not confirmed information, that is rumor and propaganda

.

That evil Karl Rove at it again!

UPDATE

Lets all remember Larry Johnson’s other great “sources” when he said Rove was to be indicted:

It is not just Jason Leopold. Joe Wilson heard the same from other sources. And, more importantly, Jason is reporting based on multiple, more than two, sources.

And his fascination with Mr. Rove:

Karl is a shameless bastard. Small wonder his mother killed herself. Once she discovered what a despicable soul she had spawned she apparently saw no other way out. It would be one thing if his vile tactics were simply mere smears of politicians like Kerry and Murtha. They are big boys and should be able to defend themselves quite ably against this turd.

Reason for concerns: AFC North (SportingNews.com)
A capsule look at reasons for concern among teams in the AFC North: Baltimore Ravens 1. An offensive line in flux. There is no timeframe when RT Jared Gaither will return from a back injury. The top backup, Oniel Cousins, has missed substantial practice time with a concussion and was inconsistent when healthy. The coaches probably will move RG Marshal Yanda to tackle and insert backup C Chris Chester at right guard. That leaves this unit with little depth.

Ravens Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Expectations have only been raised for the Baltimore Ravens this preseason.

Quarterback Joe Flacco has had a strong preseason, completing 61 percent of his passes and throwing three touchdowns (a rating of 90.9).

Baltimore's starting defense didn't allow a touchdown in three preseason games.

"Anything less than a Super Bowl win, really, is a disappointment to us," wide receiver Derrick Mason said.

"I think we've done more than enough over the last three years to put ourselves in a position to win a championship. To do all we've done and not come out of this thing with a championship would be disheartening."

Most of the excitement has been generated by the Ravens offense.

While Ben Roethlisberger is out, the Pittsburgh Steelers need to keep the wheels on. Although they will be down an important man, a strong, physical team effort can keep them from spinning in reverse. Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger await suspension decision (SportingNews.com)
Pittsburgh Steelers fans have seen the last of Ben Roethlisberger for a while. The question of how long -- six games, four games, or three -- will be answered by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, perhaps as soon as today. The spotlight now is on Roethlisberger's replacement. While coach Mike Tomlin was expected to name seventh-year veteran Byron Leftwich as the stand-in during Roethlisberger's suspension, that plan likely will have to be scrapped.
